Even though there are multitude of solution options to help protect connected cars from cyber-attacks, nothing stops the hackers from continually trying to find and exploit new vulnerabilities. The only way to mitigate this ongoing risk is to enable the in-vehicle systems to learn new ways to fight back. To achieve this, connected cars need mechanisms that continuously update the vehicle software with the newest and most advanced security features. These updates can be done either manually at the dealer, or automatically over the air.
