The European Software Testing Awards (TESTA) celebrate companies and individuals who have accomplished significant achievements in the software testing and quality assurance market. The fourth edition of the TESTA awards concluded on the 16th of November, 2016 and HARMAN won “The Best User Experience (UX) Testing in a Project” award in partnership with a leading UK-based betting and gaming company.
HARMAN also bagged the “The Best Automation Project – Functional” as a special commendation. The awards ceremony, held at Old Billingsgate, London, was attended by hundreds of software testing and quality assurance professionals from across the globe.
In the “Best User Experience (UX) Testing” category, HARMAN developed an innovative UX Testing Strategy for a UK based client by carrying out high quality end user research and automating key user journeys using its proprietary automation framework “AutoNitro”. The UX team used the research learning spiral (Sanders’ 2013) to formulate and analyse usability aspects. Workshops, real time user response (questionnaire based) and performing A/B testing on primary and secondary features led to assess the popularity of journeys using smart mobile applications. Our IP based automation framework - ‘AutoNitro’ bagged a special commendation in “The Best Automation Project – Functional” category. Use of ‘AutoNitro’ resulted in increasing the automated test coverage to more than 75% of regression tests. This helped in reducing manual effort of more than 1955 person days per year.
